This past weekend, I had the privilege of photographing the work of KNEF, a Los Angeles-based artist whose journey from graffiti to fine art reflects the pulse of Southern California. In the session at his home studio, we captured not only the intricate details of some of his acrylic work, but also the gritty style which has defined his journey as an artist.
KNEF has an unmistakable artistic presence rooted in the streets and art culture of L.A. From hidden street corners to gallery walls across Southern California, his murals and paintings serve as visual narratives, layered with the contrast of roughness and beauty that defines the city. His background in graffiti art brings a raw energy to his work, while his finely detailed acrylic paintings invite viewers into moments of focus and discovery, revealing the shapes within shapes that symbolize his artistic evolution.
Through my lens, I aimed to capture the dynamic energy of KNEF's work and present it in a way that does justice to his artistic vision.
