Recently, I had the privilege of photographing legendary international hip-hop artist Planet Asia, a name synonymous with the best in West Coast rap and lyrical craftsmanship. Catching up with him in Los Angeles, the shoot took us through various streets in Hollywood, blending the area’s classic, urban vibe with Planet Asia’s unmistakable charisma and style.
The streets provided a perfect backdrop for this session, allowing us to experiment with different environments that reflect the duality of Planet Asia’s music — gritty yet soulful, real yet timeless. From the vibrant street murals that pay homage to hip-hop culture to the quieter corners that echo the hustle of the urban music scene, each location helped us capture the layers of his artistry and authenticity.
